In 2020, early in the COVID-19 pandemic, billionaires were freaking out about the world screeching to a halt. This meant huge financial losses for them unless they could get society started again. Proceeding as normal would cause millions of additional deaths from infection, but billionaires don’t care about human life, so they paid for some fake science from Jay Bhattacharya and other opportunists that would give them the perceived scientific justification to push anti-lockdown/pro-infection policy. Lies for money. Not a novel concept, but important to document nonetheless.
